    Community and School Profile

Mountain House School is located in Eastern Alameda County, halfway between the towns of Livermore and Tracy. It is a rural ranching and farming community covering about 30 square miles. There is only one school in this unique small district, whose building has been there for over 100 years. The school was first founded in 1893. There is very little turnover among staff and the board.

During the 2022-23 school year, the school undertook much needed renovations that resulted in the addition of a brand new playground. The building was modernized as well to create a warm and welcoming environment within which our students would thrive academically. During the 2024-25 school year, further renovations were undertaken to modernize student bathrooms. This project necessitated significant infrastructure changes to the underground septic system. All of these renovations were made possible by the fiscal conservatism exercised by the board and staff through the years.
